Cottages are ready for check-in between 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Late arrivals are available at your request by contacting us at 613-637-1369.
Check-out time is by 10 am. Once you have checked-out of your cottage and have removed your belongings, you are free to take one last canoe or kayak paddle before leaving. We ask you park your vehicle in the main parking lot so staff have easy access to the cottage for cleaning.
Payments can be made by:
Visa, MasterCard, Interac e-Transfer, or Cash. If paying by e-Transfer or Cash, a credit card is still required to have on file to secure your booking.
Due to our remote location and intimate size, late cancellations give us little chance to fill the open dates. For this reason, we uphold a strict cancellation policy.
To Reserve: We require a 50% deposit of the entire stay to confirm your reservation (minimum 3-night stay).
Bookings cancelled more than 28 days prior to arrival date will receive a full refund, less $50 administrative fee.
In the event that a cancellation is made with 28 days or less notice, the deposit becomes 100% non-refundable. Hay Lake Cottages will issue a credit voucher equal to the deposit which can be used for a future stay within the next year, and which is transferrable to others.
Refunds cannot be given for late arrivals or early departure.

Gratuities – While many resorts add a service charge to guests’ bills, we do not. We prefer to leave gratuities to your discretion. Most guests leave 10%-15% when settling their account, which is distributed to and much appreciated by, our staff.
Sales Tax – Rates are subject to 13% HST.
